Awesome Sauce Indie Box - The Monster Mash

Press Sample

Greetings! Today, I have Awesome Sauce Indie Box's newest box, The Monster Mash, to share with you! The Awesome Sauce Indie Box is a quarterly collaboration box composed of four permanent contributors and one guest contributor. The four permanent contributors are Ever After PolishLavish PolishAnonymous Lacquer, and Vapid Lacquer and this month's guest contributor is Supernatural Lacquer. Each box contains five polishes, in your choice of full or mini size as well as two addition beauty items created by two of the box contributors. I am an avid lover of all things Halloween-related, so of course I was super excited to receive this box!

All swatches were topped with Gem Glam Top Coat by Dream Polish for a glossy finish. Now, let's get to these spooky beauties!

Must Eat Brains by Lavish Polish is inspired by zombies and is described as nude filled with red holographic glitter and a little bit of copper micro glitter for added sparkle. This combination is definitely reminiscent of a blood-spattered zombie. Shown here is two coats. The formula was great and covered well in one coat. The glitter distribution is nice and even, and the dry time was pretty quick.
Before we move on to the macros, please keep in mine that both macros are lighter than the actual color of the polish, which is more accurately depicted in the swatch photo above.

Witchin' by Ever After Polish is described as a deep blurple with flashes of green shimmer. This polish was inspired by witches. Shown here is two easy coats. The green shimmer in this is so strong and pairs nicely with this shade of purple-leaning blue. Another great formula!

Headless Horseman by Vapid Lacquer is described as a black filled with deep blue shimmer, red mineral glitter, and ultra chrome mega flakes that shift in shades of copper, red, and bronze. This polish is inspired by its namesake, the Headless Horseman! Shown here is two east coats. You can see the smokey black of the polish while applying, but once you have two coats on, the blue is so strong that you'd hardly know the base was black. So much shiftiness! The flakes definitely remind me of fire! The formula was great, which is no surprise!

I Want to Drink Your Blood by Anonymous Lacquer is described as a blood red jelly filled with twenty-five glitters including red, black, holographic, and iridescent glitter in different shapes and sizes. This polish is inspired by vampires! Shown here is two super squishy coats. I love a good glitter-filled jelly, and I absolutely love the variety of glitter in this! I Want to Drink Your Blood has an excellent formula and I like the coverage it affords in two average coats.

Pumpkin Head by Supernatural Lacquer is described as a bright pumpkin orange holographic jelly filled with black shimmery flakes. This polish is inspired by the 80s slasher/horror film, Pumpkinhead. Shown here is two squishy coats. This polish is the perfect shade of orange and it is so sparkly! The formula was great, and I love the scattered flakes.

Now that we've seen the gorgeous polishes, let's move on to the extra goodies!

With your purchase of the full size or mini size Monster Mash box, you will receive Bath Dust from Ever After Polish and Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub from Supernatural Lacquer.

Ever After Bath Dust comes in Magic Potion scent which is a mixture of patchouli, cinnamon, and cedarwood. For some reason, patchouli reminds me of lavender, which isn't my favorite, but I don't really mind it. It is a very earthy scent and definitely strikes me as something that a witch's brew would smell like. To use, you can either sprinkle the contents of the bag in a warm bath or you can use half of the bag to soak your hands or feet. I have yet to use this product, but I intend to use it as a mani/pedi soak.

Supernatural Lacquer's Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub contains 100% pure cane suge, organic coconut oil, vanilla extract, and pumpkin spice essential oil. Due to the inclusion of coconut oil, this scrub will revert to a solid form at temperatures below 76 degrees. This is an easy fix if you leave it somewhere warmer and give it a stir. I am generally not a huge fan of pumpkin spice anything, but I do love this scrub because it is very spicy. The strong all spice quality really gets me in the mood for fall. The fine grit of the sugar gently exfoliated my skin and the coconut oil left my hands feeling moisturized. This will make an excellent addition to my fall hand care routine as the weather turns cold.

And as if this box wasn't already awesome enough, With your purchase of either size box, you will also get a small sheet of spooky vinyls from Lou It Yourself. This vinyl sheet includes four spider webs, two Jack O'Lanterns, four bats, two flying witches, and two witch profiles. All of these vinyls can either be used as stencils or decals for a fun Halloween mani.

The Awesome Sauce Indie Box never fails to impress! And if you are anything like me, you love all things Halloween, which makes this box a must have! A few boxes are still available for purchase, so grab one before they are gone for good!

Full size box price: $50.00

Pinwheel Polish - Oils, Bath Bombs, and Mani Fizzies

 Purchased by Me

Greetings! Today, I have a long overdue post about some products I purchased from Pinwheel Polish this summer.

I am always up for trying new indies, and when I saw Pinwheel Polish was offering free shipping on purchases of $10 or more for the 4th of July, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to give it a try! Truthfully, her regular prices were already so reasonable, free shipping was just the icing on the cake! I was so pleased with the scents Janna had to offer because, as many of you know, this was the summer of citrus scents for me. Truthfully, I am still not over my citrus scent obsession either. To satisfy my citrus desire I ordered two lemon lime bath bombs, lime cuticle oil, and lemon cuticle oil. Janna is such a sweetie, she threw in some Spa La La scented mani fizzeis for free! How awesome is that!?

First, let's talk about cuticle oil! I can never get enough cuticle oil in my life, and I was excited to see lime scented cuticle oil, which I had yet to encounter in my search for citrus cuticle care products. These oils smell so clean and crisp, I can't go over how much I love them! The scents are literally perfect. They soaks in at a nice happy medium speed, not too fast, not too slow, and they are very effective.

The lemon lime bath bombs were red, white, and blue for 4th of July, and just look so cute! And, can I just say how lovely the packaging is! I haven't gotten the chance to try this baby out, but I am so looking forward to it! Since I bought two, I plan to send one to my Mama so she can enjoy a nice citrusy bath as well!

The Spa La La scent is described as an inviting fresh, soapy scent. I would say that description is spot on! The smell was very soothing. The mani fizzies were in the shape of round tabs with a swirl print on the top. I used one of these the day my package arrived, and it was bliss! It left my hands so soft, which I followed with some of the lemon cuticle oil for some extra moisturizing. After I soaked my hands, I recycled the water to soak my feet, which left them soft as well!

So, long story short, I am beyond happy with my purchase! The scents were all awesome, the packaging was so cute and thoughtful, and the extra goodies were a wonderful surprise! If you haven't given Pinwheel Polish a try, I highly recommend that you do! Janna is currently offering a discount in celebration of her birthday, so be sure to check Pinwheel Polish out on social media for the discount code. She is also hosting a giveaway on Instagram, so give her a follow and be sure to enter. But wait, there's more! If you are in on the wax melt craze (I totally would be if my husband didn't hate candles and smells so much, haha.) then you are in for a treat because Janna is now making and selling those too in a variety of fun scents!

I feel that it is more important than ever to share all the good experiences we have with independent polish/cuticle care/body care/cosmetics makers out there in light of the recent events in the indie community. One bad apple shouldn't be allowed to spoil the beautiful trust we place in the indie community as a whole. There are many amazing makers out there, and I, for one, will continue to support and love this little indie world that I enjoy so much!
