Urban Nail Art Selections

Press Sample

Greetings! Today, I have a few more selections from Urban Nail Art to share with you!

Glitter heaven!

All swatches are topped with my favorite top coat, Gem Glam Top Coat by Dream Polish. Now let's get to these glittery beauties!

"Envy" is a clear-based glitter topper packed with matte black hexes, squares, and shards, transparent iridescent blue, purple, green, and gold hex and square glitter, and micro holographic glitter. Here I am wearing one coat over "Seeing Red" by China Glaze. I had two favorites from these four selections and this baby was definitely one of them! Matte black glitter is just so perfect, and the iridescent and holo glitter in this really sends "Envy" over the top on the awesome scale.

Can't. Look. Away.

For this look, I used Twinkled T's Tetris vinyls along with their skinny chevron vinyls to create the design on my ring and pinky fingers. I also used some triangle studs from Born Pretty Store. I finished it off with Dream Polish's Ultra Wax Top Coat for that sweet, sweet matte effect. And yes, "Envy" looked just as amazing mattified!

"Mr. Candy" is a creamy white crelly filled with matte neon hex glitter in a variety of colors, and matte neon pink butterflies and flowers. Here I am wearing three coats for complete opacity. The formula is not too thick, and not too thin, a happy-medium! I turned my bottle upside down for a few minutes before application and had no trouble retrieving the adorable little butterflies and flowers. I love how fun and girly this polish is!

So cute!

I went simple on accenting this bright and cheery polish with some neon skull charms from Twinkled T. I thought the little skulls look like candy which fits well with a polish named "Mr. Candy."

"Supernatural" is a clear-based, densely packed glitter topper full of gold to green color shifting shimmer and large pastel square and hex glitter in yellow, pink, and blue. Here I am wearing one coat over "Born to be Purple" by Joha's Love Nail Polish. "Supernatural" reminds me of spring!

Sticking with my spring vibe, I kept it simple with some iridescent purple and pink flower confetti.

"Purple Dance" is a dark purple jelly base that is absolutely packed with holographic micro glitter and some scattered larger hex glitter. This purple beauty is my absolute favorite ever! Just look at it! Here I am wearing two easy coats. I could not bear to do any nail art over this mesmerizing purple deliciousness, so just bask in its purple glory.

Bask, I say!

All I'm saying is, Urban Nail Art never fails to impress me with their unique glitter combinations. These polishes are downright gorgeous!

Drip Drop Nail Paint and Candied Apple Polish - Candy Drop Duos

Purchased by Me

Greetings! Today, I have not one but two fabulous Candy Drop Duos to share with you! These babies will be released this Friday, January 30th, at noon EST in both Drip Drop Nail Paint's and Candied Apple Polish's shops.

Top half: Birthday Bash Duo
Bottom Half: Box of Candy Drops Duo

All swatches are topped with the ever-fabulous Gem Glam Top Coat by Dream Polish. Now, let's get to some swatches!

First up is Candy Drop Throws a Birthday Bash! These two polishes were designed to celebrate the birthdays of the creators of Drip Drop Nail Paint and Candied Apple Polish, whose birthdays both fall in the month of January. This duo consists of the following:
"Dainty Desserts" - Drip Drop Nail Paint
"Cuppycakes and Sprankles" - Candied Apple Polish
assorted nail art studs from Alison of Candied Apple Polish

"Dainty Desserts" is a pretty bubblegum pink creme with a subtle holo shimmer that is not visible in the swatch above. Don't worry though, you can see it in the macro! Here I am wearing two smooth and easy coats. This pink is so delicate and girly!

Hello holo shimmer!

"Cuppycakes and Sprankles" is a fun pastel-leaning blue crelly filled with a rainbow assortment of metallic glitter in varying sizes and shapes. Here I am wearing two smooth and easy coats. The name is so fittings, as the glitter looks like sprinkles in a sea of blue frosting! Yum!

These colors just compliment each other so well that I had to create a few designs to bring them together!

This first look was inspired by the confetti and streamers one might see at a birthday bash. I used Twinkled T's sweet swirl vinyls to create perfect swirls of "Dainty Desserts" within "Cuppycakes and Sprankles."

Excuse me while I go die a little over how much I love these two polishes in swirl form.

The next look I created incorporated a few of the studs that Alison contributed to the duo in addition to "Cuppycakes and Sprankles." I paired the studs with some sideways chevron print using "Dainty Desserts" and Twinkled T's skinny chevron vinyls.

The second duo that will be released this Friday is the Box of Candy Drops Duo. This duo is Valentine's Day-inspired and consists of the following:
"Mint to Be" - Drip Drop Nail Paint
"Sweet Nothings" - Candied Apple Polish
an assortment of placement glitter from Jessica of Drip Drop Nail Paint that includes matte pink hearts, metallic red hearts, and holographic silver butterflies
an assortment of placement glitter from Alison of Candied Apple Polish that includes matte purple and holographic silver hearts

"Mint to Be" is a perfect mint-colored creme with a delicate holo shimmer that you cannot see in the swatch above, but you can see in the macro below. Here I am wearing three thin coats. There is just something so elegant about mint-colored polish, but the subtle shimmer really sets this beauty apart from other mint-colored polishes.

Behold!

"Sweet Nothings" is a clear-based glitter topper filled with matte white hearts, metallic pink hex glitter, teal square glitter, micro holographic silver glitter, and translucent matte white hex glitter. Here I am wearing two dabbed coats over "Mint to Be." I left my bottle upside down for a few minutes prior to application as larger glitters often tend to settle toward the bottom. "Sweet Nothings" is so whimsical and perfect for those Valentine's Day manis!

Although I did not get a chance to use the adorable placement glitter that Jessica and Alison included in addition to "Mint to Be" and "Sweet Nothings," I did snap some sweet, sweet macros for you all:

Whether you are a prospective first-time buyer of a Candy Drop Duo or a full blown Candy Drop addict, these two duos have a little something for everyone! I love the vibrance and versatility of the Birthday Bash Duo, but I also love the elegant simplicity of the Box of Candy Drops Duo. Remember, these duos both release in limited quantities this Friday, January 30th, at noon EST, so don't forget to set an alarm!

You can purchase these duos in both Drip Drop Nail Paint's and Candied Apple Polish's shops:

Born Pretty Store - Stamping Plates

Press Sample

Greetings! Today, I have some stamping plates and a stamper form Born Pretty Store to share with you!

Reviewing these stamping plates really pushed me out of my comfort zone because I had never stamped before. However, I read this excellent article by Amy McG, also know as @mcpolish on instagram, about the secrets to stamping, and it became a much less daunting task.
If you would like to check out this article click the link below:

Let's take a look at the items I tested out, shall we?

This is the stamper and scraper set that I chose to review along with my stamping pates. This stamper is a sticky stamper, and I really liked it. However, I have nothing to compare it to since this was my first time stamping. The scraper, I could live without. It truly was not that great owing to how small it was. I replaced the scraper with a used gift card, which I have found to work much better.

The first plate I tried was item #17264 - Leaves Theme - Plate 19.

Here are a few designs I created using this plate:

The next plate that I tried was item #17258 - Grid Patterns - Plate 13.

Here are some designs I created using this plate:

The last plate that I tried out was item #17267 - Butterfly - Plate 22.

This is not the original image that was on the site when I selected this plate. In place of the two small paisley designs was two butterflies, but this is the plate they are now listing on the site.
Here are some designs I created using this plate:

So, long story short, I dig stamping! I need a little bit more practice, but I think I'm off to a good start with the plates and stamper from Born Pretty Store.
You can buy the plates you've seen above, as well as many other plates from:
Direct links for each of the plates above are under each image.

ZR's Polish - My Heart's Desire Collection

Press Sample

Greetings! Today, I have the My Heart's Desire Collection from ZR's Polish to share with you! This collection consists of five sheer shimmery polishes with larger glitter mixed in. These polishes were designed to be worn on their own or as glitter toppers over another color.

All swatches were topped with my favorite top coat, Gem Glam Top Coat by Dream Polish. Now, let's get to some swatches!

Disclaimer: I turned all of these polishes upside down for several minutes before application in order to make it easier to retrieve the larger glitter.

"XOXO" is a sheer blue shimmery polish filled with metallic silver and blue hex glitter, holographic silver circle glitter, and metallic silver heart glitter. Here I am wearing three coats. I left my bottle upside down for several minutes before applying, but I did still have to fish a bit for the larger glitter.

"One Love" is a very sheer iridescent pale pink shimmery polish filled with matte pink, orange, and white heart glitter, matte yellow flower glitter, and a sparse mixture of hex glitter in varying colors. Here I am wearing three coats over "Mistletoe Kiss" by Joha's Love Nail Polish. "One Love" cannot be worn without an opaque base color due to how pale the color is, otherwise you cannot see it aside from the larger glitter. I would also not suggest wearing it over a white base, as it did not show up well over white. I do like how it looks over "Mistletoe Kiss" since they are pretty similar shade-wise.

"Crush" is a sheer orange shimmery polish filled with matte pink and orange heart glitter, and large and small matte orange and metallic gold hex glitter. Here I am wearing three coats. This polish reminds me of Orange Crush Soda. Yum!

"Muah" is a sheer pale green shimmery polish filled with metallic silver and matte white heart glitter, sparse orange, pink, and green hex glitter, and sparse silver square glitter. Here I am wearing three coats.

"Sweet Heart" is a very sheer bright pink shimmery polish filled with holographic silver butterfly glitter, pale pink and white heart glitter,  and a mixture of iridescent and pink hex glitter in two sizes. Here I am wearing three coats over "Pink Storm" by Joha's Love Nail Polish. "Sweet Heart" is difficult to see without an opaque color beneath it. I would suggest a similar color or one that is complimentary to pink.

I am not a huge fan of sheer polish; however, I do think this collection would look cute exclusively used as glitter toppers. The shimmer in each one would definitely compliment a nice creme polish in a similar shade.
