Dream Polish - Summer Escape Collection

Press Sample

Greetings mortals! Today, I have Dream Polish's Summer Escape Collection to share with you! For those unfamiliar with Dream Polish, it is a one-stop-shop for scented nail and cuticle care products. If you are a regular reader, you know I absolutely swear by Vanessa's products. They're amazing!

This post is coming to you from the super sunny state of Utah where I am spending time with my wonderfully amazing Mama! Since I am fortunate enough to have this time with my mom, I thought it would be fun to have her help me evaluate some of these summery new scents! The Summer Escape Collection consists of four scents: Sun and Sand, Bird of Paradise, Tropical Mojito, and Hawaiian Orchard.

The Mama and me atop the Natural History Museum of Utah

I tried Bird of Paradise in the form of Gem Glam Top Coat. Bird of Paradise has a sweet, succulent floral scent. If you love floral scents, then this baby is for you! I also picked up subtle fruity notes which complimented this exotic floral. Gem Glam Top Coat dries to the touch relatively quickly and provides a gorgeous glossy finish. Gem Glam Top Coat is my go to top coat, and when you get it scented, you get to smell your fingers all day like a total weirdo which is also awesome!
Because I am a mere moral, I sometimes miss subtle nuances of scents, so for comparison purposes, here is the scent description provided by Vanessa, the master scent mixologist behind Dream Polish:

Dream Polish's Scent Description:
"True-to-life, nectary floral with subtle base notes of fresh fruit. The belle of any tropical garden."

I tried Tropical Mojito in the form of Gem Glow Cuticle Balm and Smooth Gem Base Coat. Tropical Mojito has a delicious lime scent with a soft minty note. I absolutely love this scent! It's so tangy! The formula of Gem Glow Cuticle Balm is beyond perfect! It is so soft it practically melts on your skin! Smooth Gem Base Coat is a smoothing base coat that is great for leveling ridges in the nails. I can't wait to pair Tropical Mojito Smooth Gem Base Coat with Dream Polish's ever popular Strawberry Champagne Gem Glam Top Coat for some strawberry lime bliss!

Dream Polish's Scent Description:
"Juicy lime, sugar, mint leaves and rum balanced with notes of exotic fruits, sparkling berry and a touch of violet."

I tried Hawaiian Orchard in the form of Gem Glow Cuticle Oil. To me, Hawaiian Orchard smells of pineapple, coconut, and banana with a slight floral note. My mom also noted the scent of pineapple and coconut. Hawaiian Orchard is so subtle and sweet, and I can definitely see it being a fan favorite.

Dream Polish's Scent Description:
"Intensely sweet traditional and tropical fruits with a hint of floral and green. Mango, orange, banana, pineapple and melons are strong notes."

I tried Sun and Sand in the form of Gem Glow Cuticle Balm. My first impression was that Sun and Sand smelled like a day at the beach. Quite literally the incarnation of sun, sand, and the crisp smell of the sea. But there was something about this scent that I just could not put my finger on. When my mom smelled it, she picked up the scent of sunscreen and that was it! That was the note that I could not place. Sun and Sand is such a warm, summery scent and it comes in at a close second to Tropical Mojito for me.

Dream Polish's Scent Description:
"Complex, fresh and clean scent with notes of orange blossoms, ylang ylang and a touch of musk. Reminiscent of sunbaked sunscreen and a beach shower."

This may very well be Dream Polish's best collection of scents to date! The scents are so cohesive and just scream summer! There is certainly something here to please everyone from floral lovers, to fruit fans, and those who love offbeat scents. The Summer Escape Collection will be available for purchase Sunday, June 21st!

Doctor Lacquer - Scubaloha

Press Sample

Greetings! Today, I have Doctor Lacquer's Scubaloha Collection to share with you! This collection consists of seven glow-in-the-dark pastel cremes and one glitter topper to compliment the set! Scubaloha is a portmanteau of scuba and aloha, and the entire collection is inspired by indigenous Hawaiian reef fish. How fun is that?

All swatches were topped with Gem Glam Top Coat by Dream Polish for a glossy finish. Now, let's get to these glow-in-the-dark beauties!

"Lau'i Pala" is a pastel yellow-green creme polish. Shown here is two easy coats with a water marble accent nail created with "Lau'i Pala," "Kumu," "Lau Wiliwili," and "Nohu." This is one of my favorites from this collection. The color is so bright and summery and the glow is so gorgeous! This polish was inspired by the Yellow Tang.

"Nohu" is an pastel orangey coral creme polish. Shown here is two perfectly buttery coats. This is such a perfect summer coral, not to mention that it glows in the dark which is such an awesome bonus! "Nohu" was inspired by the Scorpionfish.

"Lau Wiliwili" is a pastel yellow creme polish. Shown here is two super easy coats. "Lau Wiliwili" was inspired by the Milletseed Butterflyfish and has a bright yellow glow. So fun!

"Kumu" is a pastel pink creme polish. Shown here is two smooth and easy coats. "Kumu" is named after the White Saddle Goatfish and has a pale pink glow. Who doesn't love a gorgeous bubblegum pink?

"Uhu Uliuli" is a pastel lavender creme polish. Shown here is two coats with a water marble accent nail using "Uhu Uliuli," "Hinalea Lauwili," and "Omilu." Named after the male Spectacled Parrotfish, "Uhu Uliuli" has a deep purple glow.

"Hinalea Lauwili" is a pastel green creme polish. Shown here is two buttery smooth coats. "Hinalea Lauwili" is named after the Saddle Wrasse and has a neon green glow. I absolutely love this shade of green!

"Omilu" is a pastel blue creme polish. Shown here is two perfectly smooth coats. "Omilu" is named after the Bluefin Trevally and has the most gorgeous electric blue glow.

"Lauhau" is a clear-based glitter topper filled with circle glitter in a rainbow variety of colors. Shown here is two dabbed coats worn over the entire collection of Scubaloha pastels. As circle glitter is inherently heavy, some settling may occur. I turned my bottle upside down for a few minutes before application to make glitter retrieval easier. "Lauhau" is named after the Rainbow Butterflyfish and perfectly compliments the entire collection.

Here is a look at the base I used to swatch "Luahau." For this look, simply paint half of each nail with a different color. This mani is so fun and easy, and it looks awesome in the dark!

The Scubaloha pastels water marble so effortlessly, so, of course, I had to do some water marbles with them! For my first water marble, I alternated warm and cool colors. On my index and ring finger, I used "Kumu," Lau'i Pala," "Lau Wiliwili," and "Nohu." On my middle and pinky finger, I used "Kumu," "Uhu Uliuli," "Hinalea Lauwili," and "Omilu."

Excuse me while I drool over glow-in-the-dark water marbles.

I added some Twinkled T Paisley Cyclones to my alternating water marble for even more fun and topped it off with Dream Polish's Ultra Wax Top Coat. The Scubaloha pastels look so gorgeous matte!

For this water marble, I used all the pastels together. They look so psychedelic together!

Glowing water marble FTW!

I added some Twinkled T Oval Cyclone Vinyls to this water marble for a totally hypnotic effect.

As you may have picked up on, I had a totally love affair with this collection! The colors and formulas are perfect, they glow in the dark, and they water marble so perfectly! I could literally rave about the awesomeness of this collection all day!
The Scubaloha Collection is available for preorder at a reduced price now through Saturday, June 6th, and will officially be released Friday, June 12th at 9PM EST. You definitely do not want to miss out on this collection!
