Greetings! Today, I have Awesome Sauce: Indie Box's newest box, Exotic Destinations, to share with you! The Awesome Sauce: Indie Box is a quarterly collaboration box composed of four permanent contributors and one guest contributor. The four permanent contributors are Ever After Polish, Lavish Polish, Aurora Lacquers, and Anonymous Lacquer, and the guest contributor for this box is Vapid Lacquer. Each box contains five polishes, in your choice of full or mini size as well as two addition beauty items created by two of the box contributors. Preorders for this box will start July 17th at 5PM EST and run through July 24th.
All swatches were topped with Gem Glam Top Coat by Dream Polish for a super glossy finish. Now, let's get to these exotic beauties!
Ever After Polish
Waianapanapa is described as a holographic black jelly with rainbow sun holographic micro glitters and was inspired by the black sand beach in Hawaii. Shown here is two coats, but Waianapanapa could certainly be opaque in one thicker coat. The formula was dense, but not unmanageably so. When I put this on my nails, my jaw just dropped. This polish is absolutely stunning! I would even go as far as to say that it is my favorite Ever After Polish in existence.
Key to Paradise is described as a seafoam green jelly full of holographic silver micro glitter. Shown here is two coats. Key to Paradise has that smooth and easy formula that I love about Lavish Polish. The glitter distribution is also fantastic. This is such a gorgeous shade of green and the sparkle compliments it nicely.
Best Belize is described as a holographic deep marine blue jelly filled with blue to green shifting flakes and was inspired by the Great Blue Hole in the oceans of Belize. Shown here is two coats. The formula was nice and easily workable. If you are a two coat kind of polisher you will want to apply heavier coats. This blue is beautiful, and I don't think I own any holographic polishes that also have color shifting flakes. So unique!
Endless Sunset is described as a peachy orange crelly filled with matte teal hex, holographic teal hex, and matte yellow dot glitters and was inspired by the sunsets on island St. Thomas. Shown here is two coats. The formula was nice. Some settling did occur in my bottle as it sat for a while before I got home from vacation, but turning it upside-down for a few minutes before application remedied that. When I first saw this in the bottle, I was concerned that it would look unflattering with my complexion, but I was pleasantly surprised with how much I love it! It is such a soft, delicate shade.
Garota de Ipanema is described as a neonish purple with a warm tan copper shimmer and a kick of scattered holographic shimmer and was inspired by Ipanema Beach. Shown here is two coats. The formula was great as is typical for Vapid Lacquer. Ahh, this color! It's like a radiant orchid that positively glows; so gorgeous!
Now that you have seen the beautiful polishes, let's get to the awesome extras included in this box!
Jojoba Cuticle Oil - Provided by Anonymous Lacquer
Anonymous Lacquer's Jojoba Cuticle Oil is described as having a strong fresh, sweet lemony scent and is made with jojoba and other essential oils. Pictured above is the 10mL roller ball applicator that will come with the order of a full size box. Mini box orders will receive a 7mL dropper. Cuticle oil is an important part of your nail care routine as it keeps your cuticles moisturized and your nails flexible which protects you from breaks. This oil soaked in relatively quickly and left my cuticles and nails looking super healthy. I am absolutely in love with the scent as well! Mildred must have known I have been craving clean citrus scents lately, and she did not fail to impress with this oil. The scent is strong, but not overpowering. Also, from an aesthetic standpoint, I would like to note how much I love that her roller ball applicator is matte black; so cool!
The Girl From Ipanema Shimmering Body Cream - Provided by Vapid Lacquer
Vapid Lacquer's Shimmering Body Cream is a goat milk hand and body lotion that is 100% natural and boasts a chemical-free preservative. The scent is described as a tropical sun kissed treat with a mixture of coconut, mango, and papaya. Pictured above is the 1oz bottle that will come with the order of a mini size box. Full size box orders will receive a 2oz jar. I wholeheartedly agree with the description of this lotion being a sun kissed treat! It smells like a sunny day at the beach with subtle fruity notes, and it has a delicate copper shimmer that is just lovely! What I love most about this lotion is that is absorbed pretty quickly and didn't leave my hands feeling greasy. I also love that it is all natural.
Seriously, if you buy no other collaboration box for the rest of your life, you need to get this one. I am completely smitten with everything in this box. All five polishes are absolutely gorgeous and the extra beauty products are fantastic! I can't say enough good things! The ladies behind this box put so much thought and creativity into it and it is so evident right down to the perfectly detailed and clever postcard included in the box to describe the exotic destinations that inspired the products and background the brands themselves.
As mentioned above, this box will be available for preorder starting Friday, July 17th at 5PM EST and will run through the following Friday, July 24. The boxes are tentatively set to ship under two weeks after the close of the preorder window.
